CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People

If you do not have recent previous experience of working or volunteering in an early years setting or nursery, you will need to complete the CACHE Level 2 introductory course in early years, before progressing onto the Level 3 CACHE Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) (QCF) which is the early years practitioner qualification approved by OFSTED/CACHE.

You can of course, choose not to progress on to the Level 3 Diploma, the choice is yours.

This course provides you with the knowledge and practice of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and a volunteer placement in a British Orchard Nursery branch to provide you with hands on, practical experience in a real work environment, with children of different age groups and stages of development.

CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) (QCF)

The CACHE Diploma has been designed for the early years workforce. It prepares students to become early years educators, giving you the skills you need to work with and care for children from birth up to 5 years, all over the world. You'll also gain skills and knowledge that prepare you to care for young children up to age 7.

It is a work-based qualification that recognises effective practice by assessing the skills, knowledge and understanding of practitioners, including child development, teaching methods and appropriate provision for young children. The units are structured around four themes:

  • Health and well-being;
  • Legislation, frameworks and professional practice;
  • Play, development and learning for school readiness;
  • Professional development.

Upon completion of the course you will be qualified to become a Nursery Practitioner (Qualification recognised by OFSTED/CACHE).

All learners will be undertake a volunteer placement in a British Orchard Nursery branch near to where they live, where practicable to complete the required work placement hours.

On successful achievement of your qualification there is the opportunity to be employed by British Orchard Nursery too where vacancies are available!

CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children & Young Peoples Services

The CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children & Young People Services (Management Pathway) provides the skills & knowledge needed to manage, practice & lead others in nurseries, children centres, kindergartens and early years settings.

Qualification Details: The new CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children and Young People Services has a credit value of 90.

The Management pathway in this qualification is most suitable for early childhood centre managers and assistant managers who are looking to progress their career.

This quali¬fication is also appropriate for who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level and covers the following themes:

  • 1. Safeguarding and child protection
  • 2. Managing Early childhood services
  • 3. Supporting child development & working in partnership
  • 4. Contributing to broader activities, change programmes & recruitment
  • 5. Complying with local quality systems & continuously improving quality
  • 6. Developing and carrying out policy and procedures
  • 7. Promoting and developing best practice in an early childhood setting
  • 8. Childcare management

Learning: Learners must achieve 90 credits across a range of units.We use blended learning and assessment methods including an eLearning platform, support from a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals and interactive workshops. Learners also undertake a research project that develops their project and research skills and helps their academic writing and critical thinking skills.

Assessment: Units will be assessed using a range of assessment methods, including a portfolio of evidence and completion of tasks in the workplace.

You will also be able to progress to a Foundation Degree - the opportunities are limitless!
